Training programme for rescue people in avalanches has succesfully completed in collaboration with ANENAAn instructor from ANENA (www.anena.org) international organization and three Hellenic Rescue Team’s instructors trained 15 people, all mountain professionals, in topics such as preventing accidents from avalanches and search and rescue drills. This training was an extension of the collaboration of these two organizations and this is the first seminar to take place this year, which is based on international models and provide specialist knowledge. A high percentage of the participants are professionals and while they acknowledged they have also attended other seminars on the same subject, this particular one was very well-structured and well-rounded. At the end of the training, all the participants affirmed they were taught things they were not aware of and that it is the first time a high-level training like this takes place in Greece. The program they attended was “Follow the Trail” and “DVA 1” and at the end of the seminar, internationally recognized certificates were awarded that also give the opportunity to attend following trainings “Brake the Trail” and “DVA 2”. HRT would like to thank Vasilitsa mountain shelter (http://vasilitsav1850.gr/) for their permission to use the premises for the training and their warm hospitality. Hellenic Rescue Team is qualified and available to thoroughly and entirely train organizations and authorities who are in demand of mountain rescue training procedures. |
