Information

The Basic Rescue Training School follows the School of Self-Protection & Emergency Response and lasts for an additional one and a half months. Classes are held every Monday and Wednesday, during the evening hours, while hands-on, practical activities take place on weekends. Participants receive full details regarding class times and location in early September.

This school includes both theoretical and practical modules, offering participants a comprehensive understanding of rescue operations in all environments: mountain, water, urban and rural areas, especially in the context of natural disasters.

In addition to classroom learning, trainees participate in practical sessions in areas such as: First Aid, Disaster Prevention and Response, Safe Hiking and Climbing, Meteorology, Navigation and Orientation, Climbing and Nautical Knots, Sea Rescue and Survival Techniques, Radio Use and Communication

Upon completion and successful skill development, you are ready to become a member of the Hellenic Rescue Team (HRT).

You will receive a Certificate of Attendance, and then you may choose the department in which you wish to continue, moving forward to more specialized training.
