Transfer operation of the dead climber who fell at Olympus yesterday

Date: 02/09/2015
Transfer operation of the dead climber who fell at Olympus yesterday

The unfortunate climber tragically fell to his death as he was attempting to climb with his friends the Skolio slope on Olympus yesterday noon. The body has been transferred from the place of death by HRT members, Katerini and Litohoro Fire Department members early in the morning because the location of the accident is a very dangerous and difficult to reach place.

His companions, who are safe, were taken at the Apostolidis refuge yesterday late at night. The managers and operators of Kakkalos Refuge and Apostolidis Refuge went to their aid. An operation is currently under way to transfer his body through Kserolaki which is located on the northeast of Olypmus and it is thought as the safest route.
