Search and rescue mission for Norwegian climber with serious health problem

The operation to rescue a Norwegian climber facing serious health problem in the shelter area "Spilios Agapitos" Olympus on Saturday, September 19th was crowned with success.

The patient was taken from the spot by an Air Force Super Puma helicopter which carried him to Litochoro, where he was given to an ambulance. The Litochoro Fire Service and the Katerini hospital were notified of the incident.

The Hellenic Rescue Team Operations Management engaged in operation, informing the helicopter of the weather condition in the area and the exact point of the heliport, while a member of the HRT Mountain Rescue Department helped the transportation of the patient on stretcher to the heliport.

Managers of the "Spilios Agapitos" shelter provided First Aid and reported the incident and with the help of other volunteers transported the patient to the heliport.

The HRT of Olympus did not need to intervene.
