First aid training for “Save the Children” in Greece

44 people working for “Save the Children” in Leros and Kos were trained in First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS) from Hellenic Rescue Team volunteers in a seminar that took place in Kos.

Everyone who attended the course was taught through a “learning by doing" procedure how to help someone whose life is in danger and, especially, how to provide first aid to children who are in distress. In order to make sure that the trainees have a thorough grounding and can react effectively when an emergency situation arises, first aid children manikins and an automated external defibrillator (AED) were used.

The course included training in Cardiopulmonary resuscitation, automated external defibrillation, choking First Aid and recovery position and all the trainees received an international certification from the European Resuscitation Council (ERC).
